Did you mean:

memory.cpp Line 352

I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW 8 and when I attempt to build an executable out of an application that was developed in 7.1 LabVIEW crashes.  I mass compiled all the vi's from 7.1.  I ran the application and it seems to work fine, I just can't build an executable.

Here is the exact message I get:

Fatal Internal Error: "memory.cpp", line 352
LabVIEW version 8.0
You will lose any unsaved work. ...

Can anyone help me out?

Hi Joshua,

Please follow the steps in the error dialog to investigate the error. That way NI automatically receives the error log file for the crash and can therefore help you better than on the Discussion Forums.

By the way, you do NOT need to have purchased support (SSP) to get your crash investigated.

I did follow the steps in the dialog to investigate the error (several times).  Did I miss something?  How do you get the results of the crash investigation?

Hi Joshua,

You have the option of submitting your results. That way, an email will be sent and you will receive a reply to the account that you have set up. Remember to attach the error log file when submitting your results, thanks.

What was the answer to your memory problem?  I too am seeing this fatal error.

I experienced similar problems. On one occasion, I had to remove a DLL that works in 7.1 before the VI can be compiled in LabVIEW 8. So I'd suggest that you look for any DLL calls and see if you can compile without the DLLs.

On another occasion, I have a LabVIEW 8 vi that compiles fine, but when I removed a cluster constant, I got the exact error message (memory.cpp line 352). For now my workaround is to keep the cluster constant in the block diagram.

Cheers!

I have encountered more of the same errors recently. There is additional error message referring to the memory which is not readable. (Please see attached). Has anyone else seen this error?
