I've been using the GToolbox for the last few years to do exactly this. You can find it at http://webspace.webring.com/people/og/gtoolbox/.

It is reasonable priced and works pretty well, however you will need to get a new (free) installer every time you move up to a new LabVIEW version, and the new versions of the GToolbox usually lag quite a bit from the LabVIEW upgrades. The website still says "Available for LabVIEW 8.6, 8.5, 8.2, 8.0.1, 7.1, 7, 6.1, & 6", where even LabVIEW 2010 is old news.

Although I have to say that George, the creator, is very helpful and will send you some VIs if you must upgrade your LabVIEW version and need a few GToolbox VIs updated. I've tried this once.
