Larry,
I have already tried 2 and it works just fine so the LV RTE works fine.
The issue is the nican.dll library not properly. I will try 1 but I assume if it has the same library it will not work.

Hi,
That's great news that you've already performed task 2. In that case, if task 1 returns the same behavior, which I think it shall, I'd recommend upgrading your CAN driver and XNET driver to the latest version with the Compatibility Layer. This will not explain why your applicatoin works on one target computer and not the other, however it will help us rule out a driver version from the equation. Also, what type of hardware is your target computer?

I have CAN 2.7 and XNET 1.1 ... are these not the latest drivers? Also, I did check compatitibily XNET with CAN.
It is a PCI/XNET card 8512 high speed 1 port
Thank you for your continued support

Hi,
Actually, those are not the latest drivers. The latest drivers are NI-CAN 2.7.3 - http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2646/lang/en and NI-XNET 1.4 - http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2645/lang/en . Also, I remember you mentioned that you checked the XNET/CAN compatibility with your previous install, I just wanted to remind you for when you updated your drivers to the latest versions. Also, I'm glad that I am able to help with this situation.

Larry,
I tried installing the latest drivers ... it seems XNET 1.4 covers the latest CAN drivers as well all-in-one. It seemed to be the same result, however, when installing I received...
NI MX5 5.0.0 installation has failed with the following error:
Internal error 2318
C:\....\National Instruments\MAX\Data\storage.mxc
Continue?
I just hit Yes and it seemed to carry through, not sure if it is relevant.
I noticed it did install the latest drivers though and still the same issue.

Josh,
Danny has informed me that you have called in and created a support service request and he will be spearheading your support from here on. I have passed on all information that me and you have discussed via the forums and will now be supporting him in a secondary role as we both continue to research your issue. However, all support communication will now be funneled through him. I just wanted to make you aware of the current situation.
Regards,
Larry H.

Larry,
Sounds good, thank you. Hopefully we can get this figured out.

I know this might be a little late, but my concern is that you are build an .exe file on a normal Windows 7 mashine and expect that it will run on an XP embedded mashine.
Have you tried to build the .exe on a XP mashine ?
Have you read this KB about the support for XP embedded ?
Just my 10 cent...

dkfire,
Thanks for the response. I am aware of some of the XP embedded issues but I have tested other Windows 7 .exe builds on XP embedded and all of them work just fine. However, the operating system XP embedded may be missing some .dll in system32 or something along those lines that would throw the program off. I have not tested this build on Windows 7 machine because I don't have a machine that will take the 8512 card, just XP embedded.
