ni-daqmx

Hi!

What are the latest versions of NI-DAQmx drivers that are compatible with Labview 8.0 (on Windows 7) and Labview 7.1 (on Windows 2000)? Is version 9.0.2 compatible for Labview 7.1? I have tried it and it installed correctly, but there are not the DAQmx functions VIs in LabVIEW, what's the problem?

Thank you

See

NI-DAQ and LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows)

Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW

LabVIEW 7.1 is not compatible with DAQmx 9.0

LabVIEW 8.0 is not compatible with Win7

Latest versionof NI-DAQmx compatible with LV 7.1 and 8.0 is 8.7.1

You have a lot of combinations of old LabVIEW and newer DAQmx split between new OS's and really old OS's.  Don't expect to find some magic combination of drivers to work with your wide array of new and old.  You really need to just upgrade your LabVIEW version along with the drivers if you want to get things to work on Win7.

Thank you for the answer.

i have to use a pc with Windows 2000 and LV 7.1 because it is the one that i use on my lab activities, instead i use the LV version 10.0 on my laptop  with Windows 7 starter. I have to use LV 8.0 only to make my VIs (created with LV2010) compatible on LV 7.1.

One more question: can the older version of Ni-DAQmx recognize the newer Ni-DAQmx VIs??

Okay those combinations make sense.

So you are using LV8 to be the means to downconvert from your LV 2010 VI's to LV 7.1

You will probably want to upgrade your LV7.1 and Win2000 PC to newer OS and LV version if you can to avoid those hassles.

I don't think you'll have a problem with LV7.1 seeing the DAQmx VI's created in LV2010.  There is a chance that you use something that  didn't exist in an older LV version.  But I think the VI's will basically be comparable.  The main difference between older DAQmx and newer DAQmx will be in the background .dll's that make the connection between LabVIEW and hardware.
