If you are running on Windows, I've used this .NET function to open an arbitrary file name using the default application for that file.

With this also, it happens as expected, the file opens in the server.

After reading your question again, I realized that you want the sub-vi B to be displayed on the remote PC the same as it would be shown on the server.
I think this link explains what you would need to do to open a sub-vi as a separate window/form. I have never actually done this...
