parallel port error 3

I find that my Labview program suffers from Parallel Port Error 3 - an error whose meaning I'm clueless about.  I am communicating with an ADE7753 chip, and communication between Labview and the ADE has worked successfully before.  Now it's error 3 and gobbledy-gook on the data read.  Anyone ever encounter this error?

2. can you successfully use the shipping example named Parallel Port Additional Data Register Inputs.vi?

In the event you haven't already, check out the link and the shipping example, and if you're still having trouble please post the error screeshot.  Also, if you can recreate this with a very simple example, you can post that as well!
