precision measurements

Dear all,

I am using labiew in order to measure laser pulse intensity (these pulses are measured by detector and electric signal is transfered to labview). The problem is that diodes sometimes trigger from different values (different amplitudes). So is it more precise to integrate these pulses or just to take amplitude values , maybe there is any literature where i can find some information about precision.

Thank you in advance for your time. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

What are you using to measure the laser pulse intensity?  Please provide more information about your application and what exactly you are looking for.

Yep-  Need to know the laser freq and the detector characteristics-  Not really a LabVIEW thing but I'll look at it if I can help

detector frequency : 0,5 Ghz
laser repetition rate : 30 Hz

That is not the problem. My usb carrier Ni - 9162 is not fast enough, i am able only to get about 20 values of my picosecond pulse. Maybe my card settings are incorrect.

I need more info on the hardware.

What is the laser source exactly (a link to the online spec is ideal)

what is the detector (a link to the online spec is ideal)

and what are your settings on the 9162?
