print sub VI

Hi all,

Can anyone please show me an example to print a subVI without open the subVI's front panel?
I try to print a txt file, but failed, hope someone can help!

Hi Jaxx

Simply open a VI reference to the vi and then call the Print VI To Printer method using an invoke node. I can attach an example if you would like.

Hi Kurt,

I tried it that before... but that is not so simple of my subVI... inside my subVI I need to read data(*.txt file) ---> display to a waveform graph ---> print the waveform graph whitout "show the front panel out"....

is it possible?

Configure the subVI properties as follows:
Go to "VI properties...print options" and check "Automatically print front panel every time VI completes execution".

In the calling VI, right click on the subVI and select "subVI node setup...". Make sure that no boxes are checked.

Hi Jaxx

Sure, all you need to do is goto the VI Properties of the vi that you want to print, select Print Options and tick “Automatically Print Front Panel Every Time VI Completes Execution".

I’ve attached an example that demonstrates printing a subvi’s front panel when called. Uses LV 6.1

Hope this helps.
