problem reading an excel file

I'm trying to use LabVIEW read data from excel files. I can read one of my excel files, but I can not read the other one. Can you tell me what's wrong?

The two datafiles are of two different file formats(never trust file extensions). The file test_datach1.xls is a tab-delimited text file that Excel can open automatically because it has an XLS file extension. The other file (Cali.xls) really is an Excel datafile.

So how do I make LabVIEW read the other file(cali.xls) correctly?

Two things:

First, you can resave the file as a text file, but that might be problematic because there apprears to be more than one worksheet in the Excel file you posted.

Second, you can open the file using Excel. With this approach you would control Excel from LV using ActiveX. LV ships with examples on how to do this.

PS: I couldn't look at you code because I am still running 6.0 due to customer requirements.
