problem using web publishing tool

hi
i m using web publishing tool to publish my VI and i m facing a big problem.

i m using the Embedded viewing mode.

The computer on which my server is running is able to publish the VI on the Internet Explorer. But when i try to view the same page on other computers, i m facing a problem. On some computers i m able to view the page, but on others i get a blank white screen instead of the VI showing a message that it is downloading the page, which changes to "remote panel connection closed" after a while.

Also, i have noticed that the computers on which i m not able to run my VI, i m not able to run any VI throught the internet even if i have made it the server.

Another thing i have noticed is that on one of the computers, i m able to run my VI using Internet Explorer using one USER but not through the other USERS.

hoping for a reply

Vaibhav

I see by your screenshot you are using Firefox.  The remote panel runs within an activeX window.  I am not that familiar with Firefox, but I think it doesn't run activeX controls.  Or they are not allowed by default.  Check on that.

If you are running a remote panel in IE on a PC that has never run one before, and doesn't have LabVIEW on it, IE will take some time and go out to the web and look for the LabVIEW runtime.  Newer versions of IE will block that temporarily with a yellow bar at the top, which I often miss when it first pops up.  Give it time to check, allow the download of the control, and allow it time for the runtime engine to be installed.  You may even have to restart IE after it is installed or at least refresh the page.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any other screenshots besides the Firefox one in Post #1.  I thought that may be the answer because I found that in rare occasions where I have to use Firefox, it treats some webpages that have Java or ActiveX embedded on them differently.

I would say make sure that you have the same runtime engine version on the remote computer as the program that is running on the host computer.

I can't think of any other possibilities besides that.  Perhaps someone else has seen this problem, or an NI person monitoring can assist.

Where are you placing the html file?  What is the URL that you are using to access it.  I've been trying to recreate your issue and have had no luck.

Can you post the code that you are trying to publish?

This post may be worth the read.
