protools plug-ins with labview?

is it possible to create standalone plug-ins that will work in DAW's such as protools, soundforge etc? like bandpass filters, eq's etc. just curious is all 🙂

LabVIEW can create dll's if you have the Application Builder, but you would have to know the exact structure of the plug ins in order to get it to work. As far as I know Pro Tools has two different audio drivers that you have to support and I am not entirely sure they use dll's for the plug ins. I would suggest contacting DigiDesign to see how to create you own plug ins.

great, ok so just say a plugin is devloped using labview, what then are the legal implictations for public distribution? i.e would theyre be royalties or such like?

If you have created a dll with a valid copy of Application Builder then this can be distributed any number of times, without need for licensing.
