"Max database exited abnormally" error in 2010

Solved!
Go to solution

Installed the 2010 version and ran the MAX 4.7, it gave me this error. It worked fine when I was using 2009 version & MAX 4.6. Does anyone have the same problem? I did start the NI Configuration Manger, but it still didn't work. I did re-install DAQmx 9.2, however, it still did not work - still giving me the same error. Can anyone help?

Can you tell us about your DB to better get an idea of what is happening?

Was this an old DB that has been migrated etc ?

I am a bit curious reading the second thread in the past two days reporting DB issues with LV 2010 and MAX.

Curious,

I have 2 computers using LabVIEW - one using windows XP pro and the other use windows 7. I installed LV 2010 in the XP computer with old DB, and everything was fine. However, when I installed it with windows 7 computer (with old DB), it gave me this error. I also did uninstall the LV (all versions) and reinstalled LV2010. But this error message still keep coming back, and I don't know what else I can do.

Thanks for your help.

I did fix the problem. I downloaded the MAX database corruption exe to erase the database. After that I restarted the computer, it worked. I am running some VI to testing it; and it seems working fine.

I never heard of that before your posting it.

Where did you find it?

Thank you very much for the update. It is through updates like yours that we all are enlightened.

Thank you!

Hi Ben,

There is a utility posted on the community that can remove your MAX database if it becomes corrupt. Also, check out this Knowledgebase that mentions how you can remove a MAX database corruption with a batch file.
