"The NI ServiceLocator is not running"

I just installed LV 7.0 on Win2k and wanted to browse the new examples. I could open a few of them but then, when I double-click on a entry LV shows up a message box with "The NI ServiceLocator is not running..." appears and the selected vi isn't loaded. In the Service Manager this service is running. A reboot of the computer doesn't help. From this moment the Example Browse is useless.
Even an installation on a clean WinXP shows this behaviour.
What went wrong?

There are a couple of things I would check here. For one, make sure that you have TCP/IP enabled on your machine. If not, NI Service Locator can not run, so you will want to enable it. Also, if you have Norton Personal Firewall, try this:

1) Open Norton Personal Firewall 2) Double Click on "Personal Firewall" 3) Goto the "Home Networking" tab 4) Add your computer's IP address and "localhost" to the "Trusted" computer list

Hope this helps!

Thanks, but unfortunately none of your clues can help
1) the computer is in our corporate network (DHCP, ADS,...)
2) there is no personal firewall installed.

Do you have any other possibility?
