I am having problems setting up a servo motor in MAX and the problem goes away when I hook the system to a Labview 7.1 version. So I need to nuke MAX and install a new or updated version. I am running Labview 2009 SP1. MAX is version 4.6.2f1. I am getting oddball encoder readings and MAX won't reset the encoder values when asked to. It also won't start at zero counts during step response calibrations. Counts start at 1000 instead of 0 and things like that. PCI-7344 cards were swapped between machines and the problem stayed with the Labview 2009 machine. Maybe servo motors are not allowed in newer versions of Labview.

Definitely upgrade MAX... 4.x is -way- out of date. http://www.ni.com/dataacquisition/nidaqmx.htm
If you're on XP there's a hotfix for USB-connected devices here. Win7 doesn't have that issue.

Hi,
Perry I am the one who received your email request and I know we are actively working on it.
I want to point out that caution should be taken when upgrading MAX. You don't want to upgrade to a version that is not compatable with your version of LabVIEW. Also, since this is a motion problem it is better to upgrade the motion driver instead of the DAQmx drivers.
