Ìf you want to rename a project item (folder, XControl property whatever) which does not renames a filename and you want to select a character with <shift>+<rightarrow> or <shift>+<leftarrow> the 'rename mode' is left and the item is selected.

Expected behaviour:

Select an additional character (or word when using <ctrl>).

OS:

Windows XP Pro Dutch

LabVIEW version:

Dear Ton,

thank you very much for your post on our webforum. I think they never thought about this feature, so I think it is not a bug. Therefore I forwarded this suggestion as a feature request. I can imagine that this improves the usability of the project explorer.

Hello Martijn,

I think you don't understand my problem.

What I would expect is that if I use <shift+arrow> while editing a text, the edit should follow OS standards, currently this does not happen.

This is not a feature request, it is more a genuine bug.

Hello Ton,

I know exactly what you mean, it is easy to reproduce. I'm not sure if the Project explorer should follow the rules from the operating system (if they had that in mind when developing the project explorer). Just to be sure I forwarded a Corrective Action Request (CAR# 137642), lets see what's the respond from the R&D group. I will keep you posted about this matter.

Thank you for brining this to our attention,

Best regards,
