Dear all,
We are testing an USB based Smart Card Reader which involves thousands of smart cards to be placed in the reader one by one for testing. Since manually its a tedious process, we are trying to automate the application. Basically what we thought of was purchasing a robotic arm.
Using a robotic arm to pick up a smart card reader from one tray, place it on the reader exactly, after testing it will pick it up and place it on one tray if the test was passed, and put it in another tray, if the test fails.
Any idea of how to implement this? Will NI had such robotic arm and software for control.
Thanks,
Mathan

Hi mathan,
you can use something like this http://www.kuka.com/en/products/industrial_robots/small_robots/kr5_sixx_r650/start.htm I´m sure you can control it with LabVIEW.

you can probably get a CRS robot model A255 that would work for your application
for the labview control ,

Dear all,
Thanks for all of your valuable suggestions. This is the first time in our company that we are going to use robots for automation testing. We need to look into cost-effective, simple handling, robust and some more major factors. Anyhow all your suggestions are worth enough.
Thanks,
Mathan
