Correction:  It seems that the wiring arrangement affects the direction as mentioned earlier, but the arrow direction only updates when I resize the loop in which the feedback node resides.

If you upgrade to LabVIEW 8.5, you can right-click the feedback node and "change direction" 😄

Of course the feedback node got great new features in LabVIEW 8.5, for example it no longer needs to be inside a loop!.

Note: ndo's tip only seems to work when the node is already wired.
