You are opening a LabVIEW 7.1 VI under 8.2. When you do this LabVIEW will automatically recompile the VI, and asks you if you want to save it if you close it. The saved VI will be in 8.2. This is different from having different version numbers for an ActiveX component between two machines.

OK. Wasn't sure if it was something as trivial as that. I am seeing the same behavior that you're seeing, and it's a behavior that I've seen before. Replace the front panel web browser control with a fresh one from the ActiveX palette and resave the VI. You may need to delete the current control first. The next time you open it you should not get the save request.
I remember this issue having been brought up before, but I can't find the thread right now.

Hi
I have used that solution myself, but I consider it as a workaround, because when you are debugging a VI you often run it and then when you conclude your VI is working, you save it. That is fine and make no troubles in 99.9 %, but when you use this ActiveX component you have to remember it.
Don't NI have a solution for that in future LV versions.
Also, how do you handle the when you distribute the VI to other PC's where you don't have control over the version of the web browser?
If it is another version, the user get the "save VI" question when he/she closes the VI.
