serial port detection

Ciao,

is there somebody who can help me to solve this problem?

I need to distribute an application (.exe) written by LabView7.1 which comunicates with an heating circulator by means of a serial (rs232) port, but I don't know what port will be used by the final user. I'm looking for a labview function or a VI that detects all the serial ports in the PC and add them to a list. Thank you for your co-operation. Bye

Hi

I think if you use the VISA Resource Name - Control, you get all available ports listed. I always used this and never had problems up to now.

Just have a try.
