I am building an application in which i use some subVI's that I built myself.  When I import these subVI's, they have a number with the generic LabVIEW icon, I have a five and a one.  I've seen this before and I am just wondering what they represent.  Thank you for your time.

That number simply represents the number of vi's you had open at the time of saving your particular VI.  LabVIEW automatically assigns a numbered icon (if there are other VIs open without a unique icon) to each VI you create.

You can edit this icon, by going to your front panel, right clicking on the icon, and clicking 'edit icon'.  I apologize if you already knew that...  But I hope I answered your number issue.

Hi,

I was wondering too...... It represents the number was given to to the subvi when it was untitled before saving.

If it was untitled.vi and you save it with another name and then call it in another vi, you will see the number 1 on the generic icon.

Try it 🙂
