simulate camera with avi file / labview 6i & imaq

is it possible to simulate a camera input stream (with a frame grabber) with
an avi file without changing imaq vi's?

the solution shouldn't be a commercial one like the alliance vision avi
vi -> cause i'm a student 😉

You can't use the IMAQ driver VIs to acquire images out of a AVI. There are free libraries on the web for extracting the individual images out of a AVI, but you couldn't get at these with the IMAQ driver, you'd have to use the Vision VIs to read the files.
