slider doesn't want to update

I've connected a local variable to a slider indicator. Now I want to change this local variable, so that the indicator shows the new value. When I start the VI, the indicator sometimes works and sometimes not.
I've got the idea, that the slider mostly doesn't work, when I call the VI with the slider the second time during the execution of a programm. But I can't say for sure...

When I change the slider to a "normal" indicator (that shows only numbers but no bars) everything works fine. How can I use the slide bar indicator???

I'm not quite sure exactly what kind of behavior you are referring to. I tried to test this, but my VI seemed to work fine. I am attaching what I built. Run this on your machine and see if you experience the same behavior you see with your VI.
