Did you mean:

trigger from the Master instrument

Hello, everyone,
I am a Labview new user, and I have a question.
I have a PCI6221 card and BNC terminal.
Now I am going to synchronize two instruments.
I have one labview circuit to run the Slave instrument by click "run" in Labview.
The Master instrument will generate many pulses (from 0 to 5V) when it is turned on.
I only want to use the first pulse from the Master instrument to trigger the Slave instrument circuit.

I hope to have a circuit to wait for the pulse from the Master instrument.
When the circuit sees the first pulse, then the Slave instrument will work.
Any help and suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Jack

Hi Jack,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by two instruments - do you mean two 6221s? If so, take a look at the Multi-Device Synch-Analog Input-Cont Acquisition.vi for M Series. If not, what instruments are you referring to?

Hope this helps,

Andrew S

Hi, Andrew,

Sorry, I did not express my question clearly.

Now I am going to make a circuit to wait for the first pulse from outside.

If the circiut receives the first pulse, then indicate it.

I think it will be also helpful.

Thanks!

Jack
