triggering, arm, latching, arm mask ....

I am new to transient capture and Labview. I fairly  understand the terms triggering and arming  of a trigger. Is there more to arming than  initialisation and  emptying  of cyclic buffer prior to  data capture. Also what does arm mask, arm flag,arm request,latching of arm/trigger imply?

Thanks for your response.  I ve chesked out the link. But it does address  basic terms of transient recording. However arming, arm mask, arm request, arm/trigger latch etc seemed not to be addressed. Have you any definition for these termsor alternate help link?
