Dear all,
For some reason I wanted to remove and reinstall LabVIEW. However, from "Programs and Features" I couldn't do it (the uninstall button was not active). So, I deleted the entire "National Instuments Download" folder. Now when I run the setup of the LabVIEW I get the message: "no software will be installed or removed" and I can not do anything. How can I solve this?
Thanks in advance.

The National Instruments download folder does not contain the installation, just the installer. Big difference! Once the software is installed, the presence of this folder is irrelevant.
What OS is that? (What is an uninstall button???) Do you have administrative privileges?
Typically you would go to the "Programs and Features" control panel, select "National Instruments Software", select "uninstall/change", then select LabVIEW and pick "modify", "repair" or "remove" as desired.
These buttons are greyed unless you actually select an item in the listbox to the left. Did you?

I am using Windows 7. After deleting the "National Instuments Download" folder, I clicked to "National Instruments Software" in the Programs and Features, and it said something about not being able to locate something and I clicked yes and now I cant see any "National Instruments Software" in Programs and Features 😞

Some many "somethings", so little information! 😞
Did the earlier installation actually complete successfully?
have you tried a reboot?
What happens if you now try to reinstall LabVIEW by running setup again? Still the same error?
Is this Windows 7 32bit or 64bit?

So you just clicked yes to a dialog box that you didn't understand what it was asking? Well, that's how things break. The most likely question you were being asked was that Windows could not find the installation and was asking whether you wanted to remove the entry from the Programs and Features list, thinking that the folder was deleted from disk rather than performing an uninstallation process. This removes the registry entry. The uninstaller should still exist on disk in the "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\NIUninstaller\uninst.exe". Note that if you're using a 64-bit OS and then "Program Files" will likely be "Program Files (x86)".

Sorry about that I did not pay much attention when I did these things.
The reason that I wanted to re-install LabVIEW in the first place is that for a course we are using a web page which requires LabVIEW to view its demos. So, I installed LabVIEW but I am not exactly sure whether the installation completed succesfully. I remember that it asked me to restart computer at the end of installation, and I hit restart. So, then I go to the web page, and when I tried to run the demo the web browser (Firefox as well as IE) crashed. So, I decided maybe something went wrong in installation, and I tried to remove and re-install it.And you know the remaining story.
So, when I run the LabVIEW setup again then after license agreement etc. it says "no software will be installed or removed". I have rebooted the system several times but nothing is changed.I have 32 bit.

I have 32 bit OS. I do not see any National Instruments folder in the Program Files. In fact I searched my computer for that folder but only there is a National Instruments Download folder which does not have an uninst file.

What did you actually install?
LabVIEW 2010 Run-Time Engine (Standard) (32-bit)
LabVIEW 2010 Run-Time Engine (Minumum) (32-bit)
(or older version of the same).
Are the demos hosted on a website to be used via browser or do you need to download them?
Are the browsers still crashing?

I have installed: LabVIEW 8.6 Local VI Execution Browser Plug-in from the following page: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7834 So I am guessing they should be used via browser.
Now, the browser does not crash anymore, but in the middle of the window there is a box inside which it says: "Failed loading LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Version 8.6."

LabVIEW 8.6 is not officially supported on Windows 7, but it might work. Did your course coordinator point you to that web page?
Did you really install the 50MB download and not just the 1.22MB thing in the second column?
