Hi honeybear,

LV 6i and 6.1 are using different RTEs. So it is not needed to upgrade the RTE they will coexist on the same machine.
You should find (assuming windows) your RTE files in the folder %program dir%\National Instruments\shared LabVIEW Run-Time\.
Have you installed 6.1 beside 6i so you could use both (which is the default behaviour) or have you installed it in the same folder?
Have you uninstalled 6i bevore installing 6.1?

You can download the LabVIEW 6.1 run-time engine from the LabVIEW downloads page.
