unable to run serial communication

Hi

I have a peripheral (EZ430-RF2500 from Texas) that is connected to my PC (XP) via USB, and communicating through a virtual port com.

I can log using Hyperterminal and see it running ok.

I am interested in Labview for further developements, and I downloaded the evaluation SW on your website, and installed it on my PC. I did not download the addtional CD of drivers.

I am not able to start any serial VI example : each time I open a VI and start it (ex "basic serial write and read.vi"), I get "Error -1073807202 occurred at Property Node (arg 1) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->Basic Serial Write and Read.vi".

Do I use the correct VI ? Do I need a driver ?

You have not installed NI-VISA. If this was not included with the evaluation software you can get it from the NI site here.
