It's really really emergency buddy, can you please tell me how much HDD space your LabVIEW 8.0 folder specifically occupies? Can you check it by properties menu for me,please!!

I can tell you my LabVIEW 8.2.1 folder is 705MB.  I do not know what drivers or toolkits are installed in it.

I asked for 8.0 version buddy not 8.2.1,I have 8.2 and 8.2.1 ,both occupy exact 705 mb also all 8.2 and onward versions 8.2,8.2.1,8.5 have near same 700 to 800 mb occupied space.. so what's for 8.0?

And how 7.1 from 2004 occupies 274 megs only ,while year later versions near 700 megs??

Plz help

There was a big leap between LV7 and LV8. The latter was the first one with projects and a brand new UI. Actually it crashed at least 10 times a day for me. I had to upgrade to 8.0.1 as soon as it was available.

We aren't "buddies", we are volunteers in a public forum…

  • Why is disk space relevant to you? What's the problem with one more folder of <1GB with modern computers?
  • Why do you even care about disk space when you don't have problems to have several (prehistoric) versions of LabVIEW installed in parallel?

Which "help" do you need?

You know from LV7.1 to LV8.0 there was a major break in the underlying technology?

  1. So LabVIEW 8.0 was nearly 500 megs more in size compared to 7.1? From big leap you mean changes in file size or features?

Hi,

I agree with the comments. But still here are the figures I have for basic installations of LabVIEW versions:

7.0 - 280 MB

7.1 - 350 MB

8.0 - 615 MB

8.2 - 710 MB

You could also use 6.1 which only needs 160 MB or version 5.0 it is 50 MB !!

Ok ,sorry Sir for using buddies.

They are not installed in parallel ,and the machine is from 2006 running win xp sp3, I don't have access to new machines.

Also , are you sarcastically saying there was major breakthrough from 7.1 to 8.0 or you really mean it?

Can you or anyone specifically tell me plz 8.0 install size?

In features, of course. What is file size in itself without functionalities? Bigger pictures?

Thanks you very much for the figures.

I have 7.1 on my system ,and it only consumes 275 megs alone not 350 megs,...so how 350 figure comes in..

Also isn't 8.0 and 8.2 nearly same..so how 200 megs of increased space?

On that hope you're not using figures of release notes, they are just rough numbers.
