usb 6009 freeze

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm using a hub at the moment, so this can be the problem. I'll try to find a solution where I don't need this hub.

Thank you for this hint.

You can buy a PCI USB card too.

it's a low budget small pc, without any PCI slots and too few USB ports, that's why I used a HUB

What brand and model PC? I had an intermittent problem with my USB-serial and USB-DAQ  locking up or changing port designation for the serial that was ultimately caused by the USB port of the motherboard on an "HP" computer. I put HP in quotes as they just repackaged a small form factor motherboard in the chassis of their choosing. It too had no PCI slots, had one available PCIe slot (there was another, but in HP's design the power supply covered access to that one) so I had to order the PCIe USB card online for the available slot. That resolved it. I was directed to that as a possible problem by a NI support engineer, who's name I sadly don't recall. I had been trying to track an intermittent loss/lockup problem with my USB based "stuff" for quite a while.

Taking out the Hub seems to have fixed the problem, because I don't have any interruptions anymore.

Let's hope it stays this way.

I want to thank you all for your advice.

Best Regards,

Bart
