Cannot get USB-6501 to work in MAX with LabVIEW 2013 recently installed on computer.
Device was working ok with LabVIEW 2012.
Running LabVIEW 2013, DAQmx 9.7.5, NI MAX 5.5.0f0, Windows XP SP3
Device shows up in device manager under National Instruments Data Acquisition Devices.
LED blinks on device.
Shows as 'USB-6501' in MAX, but not as a NI device and test panel will not start.
NI device monitor is running in system tray, but does not respond to device being connected.
When I install DAQmx 9.7.5 I get a message that a noncompatible version of Labview is installed.
I assume this is referring to an older version that is on the computer.
any help appreciated.

What versions of LV are currently installed on the PC?
What versions have been installed in the past but are now not installed?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help.
These Labview versions are installed:
Taken from the \Program Files\National Instruments\... directory:
7.1, 8.0(no LabVIEW.exe in program directory-maybe never used), 8.2, 8.5, 2011, 2012, 2013.
Except for 8.0, all do have LabVIEW.exe in the program directory.
Regards,
Ray

You have seven different versions of LV installed? At the same time? Wow...
My gut tells me that this could be the problem. It would certainly make life difficult for an installer trying to keep track of versions of drivers.
Do you really need all those old version? Right now you can't do any DAQ with at least V7 because the new drivers don't support it. In any case it sounds like it may be time to start with a fresh install of everything that you actually need.

I agree. You should probably stick to versions that can all use the same drivers.
