Did you mean:

using DAQ for input and sound card for analog output

Hi All;

Thanks for taking interest.

Acually I am interested in:

1.   sample an input signal using DAQ at a sample rate of 4kHz

2. then play that input signal using sound card.

3. The audio at the output of sound card should be smooth having no glitches at all.

You have to keep in mind that the minimum output rate of soundcard is 8 kHz.

I tried both winmm.dll and direct sound writing, but none work for me so far;

Will be waiting for early replies.

Regards

Hello

Please attach a VI or none will be able to help you.

keep in mind that the forum is to help you doing your work, and not doing it for you.

Best regards!

Do you have LabVIEW? Go to help>>find examples>>hardware input and output>>daqmx>>analog input. You can specify how many samples at what rate you want to take with the VI functions. Or you can also create TASK in MAX (measurement and automation explorer) in start>>all programs>>National Instruments>>NI MAX. Then under devices and interfaces, right click on your DAQ device>>create task. Here also you can specify the samples, and rate.

Thanks for the kind reply; I already have been through using indivisual DAQ for input and indivisual sound card for output. The problem arises when we tries to integrate them. sampling rate at input DAQ is 4000 Hz and minimum output sample rate of sound card is 8000 Hz.

Why not increase the sampling rate to 8000Hz on your DAQ, double check the user manual for your DAQ device and see if it is capable of doing that. Otherwise you need to get a new DAQ device or sound card that can provide that.

Yup, you are right but in my application the input sampling rate can not be increased to 8000 Hz. I will have to stick my lower frequency.

Thanks for you interest and suggestions.

I thought you mentioned that the sound card needed 8k Hz?

I mean we can not increaces the input sampling rate on DAQ to 8kHz in my application. But the output sampling rate of sound card can not be lower the 8kHz(Limutatin of sound card);

Ok yes, then you need to change your hardware devices to accommodate this change.
