what does "variable name not defined in meta data error code:-1" mean?

I am new to Labview.  Trying to figure out some problems with a system that uses  a crio 9012 with FPGA.  Where is the best place to start to learn?

Can you give us some more information about this error? Where and when does it happen in your code? It is in the host VI or the FPGA VI?

As far as resources for learning, obviously these forums are great. The LabVIEW help has an insane amount of information regarding good coding practices and other general information. The shipping examples are also very helpful, you can find then by going to Help->Example Finder. NI.com also has a lot of useful articles and additional examples on the Developer Zone.

Well I'm so new to this that I don't know how much useful info I can give you due to my limited exposure to the hardware and software.  Our machine is run by Labview software on the 9012crio with fpga backplane and about 6 different modules of different type.  We use an advantech screen that I believe is Windows ce based?  The error happens before the network connects to each other and is displayed on the screen.  I'm trying to learn more but it is very slow going.  I have been in the examples, looking at fpga stuff, crio stuff, and trying to make sense of why certain things are and why they exist.  Really appreciate your time and patience.
