what hardware do i use for testing shorts and continiuty

I am currently using a program called "cable eye" for testing shorts and continuity in cable harnesses, but  I wanted to expand the capabilities of our testset so I am turning to NI and the Labview SW to do this, but I am confused on what Hardware to purchase. What HW would I need? I am guessing a chassis and some I/0 modules (32 i/o)....with a labtop so that we can use the usb to connect....let me ASAP

There are probably many solutions to your problem such as a switch and a DMM but I think your best bet would be to call NI sales. They should be able to tell you what is best for you particular application and I think you will find them very helpful.  (click here their number)
