Hey Pal,
This error means VISA is not installed properly. I would download the most recent version of VISA that is compatible with your system, install said version and then see if that fixes the issue.

I have Labview 7.0, VISA 4.0 and Window 2000. I thought this is a working configuration Should I try to install VISA 4.4.1? Is it possible that it's a Window driver initialization problem? Thanks for the help.

Hey Pal,
I would try repairing the install first. To do this, open Add/Remove Programs and then open the 'National Instruments Software' tab. The repair utility is located inside of this tab. If the repair does not work, I'd recommend uninstalling VISA, restarting, and then Reinstalling

Hello,
I ran into another scenario where Old Visa library wouldn't work and give me an error. Is ni-VISA Labview-version specific like DAQmx and niFgen? For example, would the latest niVISA for Window XP work with older version of Labview?

Hey Pal,
You are correct about NI-VISA having requirements for LabVIEW. The latest version of NI-VISA won't work properly with LabVIEW 7.0. You can see the supported versions in the readme of the driver. For example, NI-VISA 4.4.1 is compatible with the following versions of LabVIEW: 8.6/8.5/8.2/7.1.1.
What error are you running into?
National Instruments

I ran into error -1703807202 when trying to control my power supply. Let me try a different driver and I'll update you with the result. Thanks
