will labview 6.1 work with the usb-6501 DIO

I am trying to use Labview 6.1 PDS and the USB-6501 DIO. Version 7.4 of the NI-DAQ driver is the most recent that supports Labview 6.1, but it doesn't seem to work with the USB-6501 DIO. Is there any way to make this device work with Labview 6.1?

No. The device requires the DAQmx driver and not the obsolete traditional driver you have. The earlist version that is DAQmx compatible is LabVIEW 7.0.
