Did you mean:

wrong IP address but no zero after "string to IP "

I based my suggsetions purelly on your input array, and I guess you're both
right about the valid host names.

Wiebe.

yes, that's right:

windows:

127.0.0.1 : 2130706433 = 127.0.0.1
127.0.0    : 2130706433 = 127.0.0.1
127.0.      : 2130706433 = 127.0.0.1

linux

127.0.0.1 : 2130706433 = 127.0.0.1
127.0.0    : 2130706432 = 127.0.0.0
127.0.      : 2130706432 = 127.0.0.0

but i think thats the OS, not LV!

The documentation of "String To IP" says:

name is the string you want to convert. If empty, net address is the IP network address of the current machine

so, is 192.168.10.206 your correct network address?

Best regards
chris

The numeric string seem to be simply converted to it's numeric equivalent.
So

127.0.0.1 => 7F.00.00.01 => 7F000001 => 2130706433

the input is right padded with zero's so 127 becomes 7f000000.

Not sure what we are talking about here anymore.

Time for weekend.

Wiebe.
