zeroing strain gages

Is there a way to zero my strain values when I use the DAQ assistant? Right now I am reading my values but they have an offset, I would like to get rid of this offset so that my values begin at zero.

Thanks

Hi jdressle,

Depending on what device you're using, the best method to calibrate the device might be a little different.  However, I would recommend using the calibrate wizard to calibrate your device appropriately.  If you're device is already calibrated appropriately and you just want to offset the values, I would recommend using a custom scale to make the offset adjustment.  This can be found under the Settings tab in the DAQ assistant.  You can apply a linear scale to adjust all the values by the offset of your choice.  Another option would be to use LabVIEW vi's to adjust the values after they leave the DAQ assistant.

Here is a picture of how to get to the calibration wizard.

I hope this helps,
Paul C.
