Can I convert a LabVIEW Front Panel into a LabWindows / CVI User Interface File ?

Hello,

I have a very elaborate Front Panel, developed in LabVIEW 8.6, which I'd like to import into my LabWindows/CVI 2013 development environment.

Is this possible?

If yes, please provide step-by-step guidance, if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Parrita,

I thinkt that it is not possible to convert a LabVIEW FrontPanel into a CVI FP.

I have never seen such a option and I think that noting like this exists.

If it is not possible to convert a VI into CVI code, it will be the same for the fronpanel.

Hello Stephan,

thanks for your reply.

It is a pitty, since both products come from National Instruments and the buttons, controls, etc. all look so much alike.

If I could suggest an improvement to the LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI IDE's, it would be that the FP and the UIR could be exchangable/portable among both IDE's.

Regards,

Erick

I've been a LabWindows user since version 1.0 and LabVIEW since 3.0 and I think I've converted 2 whole programs In that entire time so I think there isn't much call for such use but you can place such a request on the Idea Exchange.

Hello,

I already known that it's not possible to directly convert a LabVIEW VI into a LabWindows/CVI program.

But, could I do the opposite, I want to say, could I use code implementated in Labwindows like a vi to instert it in labview?

Thanks.

Hello Cristina, you already opened a new discussion on this subject and is the correct way to do: please don't repeat your question over and over in multiple places.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
