Chinese translation of messages and strings

Is there anybody who has direct experience on the usage of CVI to write code
for the Far East market ? Wich problems could arise using CVI ? Do you need
to rewrite a lot of code if it was not designed from the beginning for
translation in non-western languages ? Please describe me your experiences.

Thanks a lot

Hi Walter

I actually do not have any experience with far east languages in CVI.
Here is, what I found at Chris Matthews PSE page:

Does CVI support multi-byte languages like Japanese and Chinese ?
Currently, the CVI environment does not support multi-byte (unicode) languages. However, there are tools to allow you to do multi-byte strings as labels and UI text. The UI localization utility supports multi-byte languages and you can load multi-byte strings from files and display them properly. We are planning to add full multi-byte character support to our environment and string handling in the next release.
