Custom distribution languages?

Hello everyone.

I am using LabWindows/CVI 8.5 and have a need to create distribution kits in multiple languages for several applications that I am working on.  There are multiple language options in the Installer Dialog Options (English, French, German, etc.) but not all the languages that I need are included.  Does anyone know of a way to expand/customize the installer dialogs?   I was hoping to not have to resort to using a third party installation package as the installer provided with LabWindows meets all of my other needs.

Hi John,

Right now, the CVI Installer will not allow to manually import languages other than the ones already listed in the "Installer Dialog Options", so you cannot add support for any other language. One possible workaround for this situation would be to use the CVI Installer for the languages that you want and are supported, and then use a silent install for the languages that are not supported. You could include documentation that would let the users know what the other installers were doing as well.

Additionally, I would also fill out a Product Suggestion and let us at NI know about this in a more formal manner.

Hi Jonathan.

Thank you for the information.  A silent install will probably ok for the time being but it would be a nice feature for a future LabWindows release to allow other installer dialogs to be dropped in.  I'll submit a product suggestion as you recommended.
