Distributing ActiveX Controls with CVI 7.0

I have included an ActiveX control within my project and followed the instructions when creating the distribution kit.

I have selected to install ActiveX container Support and created a additional File Group with the OCX and DLL files to be copied into the Windows System Directory and selected to Register Files As ActiveX Servers.

The program installs ok, but when I run it on the new PC, I receive the error : "ActiveX Control not registered on this computer". !! ?

Many Thanks.

My guess is the the ActiveX control you are using is part of another software package, say Microsoft Office? In that case the target computer must have a valid license for the main package. See this Microsoft link (and the supporting links at the bottom of that page) for info on using their ActiveX features.

If I'm right that it is Office you use, you may want also to watch the recent thread I started here on compatibility issues.

Hope this helps.
