Does driver exist for Ixia chassis?

I have an Ixia chassis. It is a protocol tester for 10/100/1000 Ethernet. It is programable with TCL. I would like to run a timed scan and then modify my power supply and clock settings before running another test. I need to be able to read the number of errors from the Ixia chassis after each test. Has anyone done this sort of testing?

How is the chassis connected to your computer and what kind of communication protocols you will be using to talk to it? Are you using a serial port or parallel port? What kind of National Instruments' product do you use in this application? We need more information about your application to help you, not everyone here works with this kind of device.

The Ixia chassis contains a PC with Win2K on it as an operating system. The PC contains some Ixia "server" SW that controls the plugin modules. The chassis can be placed on an 10/100 Ethernet for communications to a network within our building. The machine can be ran from a desltop with the network transport mechanism. We have LabView and LabWindowsCVI in the lab.

KimH,

Sorry for the empty post. I did a little digging into Ixia on the web. I apologize but I'm not understanding the core question. These chassis seem to come with all the software needed to conduct the specific testing (IP network testing?) so if I were you I'd contact the folks at Ixia...but maybe I just don't understand the problem at hand! In which case if you could detail the questions here and include as much information as possible that would be great.

Perhaps someone in the community has worked with this hardware before but I'm guessing a faster response from the folks at Ixia or their discussion forum.

I am also recently interested in controlling IXIA IP traffic generation over LabView connected with testing that do.

I just installed the IXIA software and will be working with this. I am interested if anybody has success with this so I can copy 🙂

Otherwise, I will post as I create some interface to control... I think it may be in the telnet area of LabView that I end up controlling the IXIA.
