Editor end of line recognition

I am using labWindows/CVI 8.1 and 8.5 and have a question (or suggestion for improvement) regarding the built in editor. The way the editor handles the end of a line is different than the way other editors do it. It seems to have an infinite line. I would expect (and like) to have the cursor:

- Stop moving to the right in response to the right arrow key when it reaches the end of the characters I have entered.

- Snap to the end of the characters I have entered if I click the cursor to the right of that point

I know that I can hit the <end> button and it will snap to this position, but that is an extra step.

Is there an option I am missing to get this functionality? Other than this concern I like the functionality of the editor.

Thanks

Don Frevele

Hi Don,

I agree with the first suggestion, but I feel like the second one may have other side effects, especially for adding comments.

I would like to have a little freedom on where I can start typing the comment.

Why should I add the whitespace manually (by pressing tab or space key) between the semicolon and comment separator characters.

I should be able to click some blankspace on the page and start typing the comment.

However, right key may be prevented to move the cursor beyond typed characters. That would be fine for me.

Btw, I do not think this behaviour is adjustable.
