Font Sizing Problem

I'm having a problem with Font Sizing between different machines.
On my development machine the fonts on the panels on the compiled EXE looks just fine, but on my work desktop computer (which does not have CVI or NI-DAQ installed), the fonts on a lot of the panels show up wierd sizes and get chopped off etc.

I used the package installer and it included some fonts in a \CVIRTE\FONTS directory. Copying these fonts to the executable directory does nothing.

Is the some sort of way to embed the fonts in the EXE or something?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Dave 🙂

Just a guess. Display local settings on the target machine may be different from development machine. Check Control Panel >> Display >> Settings >> Advanced settings and look at character resolutions set for that machine: normal resolution is 96 DPI; if the user has set a higher value (120 DPI is the predefined "large fonts" setting, but the user can set a personalized value) characters will enlarge and the effect will be the one you're observing.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Thanks, but that's not it. Both machines are set to "Normal" size font in the control panel.

Any other suggestion?

Hi Dave,

I have a few questions for you.  What version of CVI are you using and what operating system?  What are the resolutions on your development machine and target machine?  Finally, exactly which fonts are you using?

You may also want to take a look at this post which discusses some font issues in CVI 7.0.
