Getting an unrecoverable error (at 001B:103FC9B0) when I try to 'Find UI Object' from my CVI editor.

I had this problem on another computer. Recently upgraded and installed CVI on it, and the problem is still occurring. Any idea if this has been addressed in CVI 5.5.1, or whatever the free step upgrade is? Anybody else seen this?

Can you open the uir file succesfully and view it still? Have you tried this with the same project on another system? There may be a possibility that if your uir is corrupt that this can cause the error to happen, but then again there may be something specific to your project that is causing this.

So, the first thing I would suggest is making sure the uir file is still okay by opening it. Then try this on another system to see if you can reproduce it.

If this doesn't shed any light on the issue, we would like you to contact us through the web form at www.ni.com/ask and attach your project so that we can try reproducing the problem. Make sure to give us a description of your system (i.e. OS revision and service pack info, along with some hardware information) and a
"cookbook recipe" set of steps for reproducing what you are seeing.

I have this problem too. It only happens with WIndows 2000. It works fine with Windows 98. When I try to view UI with Windows 2000, the whole CVI envioronment blows up.

Thanks Jason for the reply. Actually, this seems to only happen if my uir is not already open. If I open the uir before using the Get UIR Object function, I never have this problem. So this is usually what I do, but occasionally I don't realize that my uir is not yet opened, click the icon to Find UI Object, and get the error.

My project is quite large, but if that is the best way, I'll send it.
