Graphic problems

Hi all,

I use CVI 6.0 and W2k, I'm experiencing some problems with graphic ring
controls and with picture boxes.

My application has two windows (among the many others) with a synoptic
panel of an high vacuum chamber. I use graphic ring controls to show the
status (on / off / fail) of the devices of the chamber.

It happens that the images representing valves, pumps, etc. are corrupted
either at runtime and SOMETIMES also at design time in the uir editor !!!

Moreover less often it happens also that some dimmed buttons of the uir
editor dialog boxes (edit control dialog box) are corrupted too meanwhile
some (or only 1) are dimmed in the correct way.

During the use of CVI 6.0 I experienced ather similar problems, but I
ignored them since now that I have
an application not working properly.

For your information I noticed problems in a system with W2k (italian) and a
815 chipset with embedded graphic controller and with 2 systems with a
Matrox 450 graphic card and W2k (english) (I also updated the driver of one
of the two Matrox equipped PC but did't have succes - the problems ramain).

Does someone else experienced similar behaviour ? What to do ? I'm very late
with my application, any suggestion ? Should I suicide ;-))) ?

Por lo que me ecuentas y con mi experiencia con CVI , ese problema te puede estar pasando por dos posibles motivos :

1. Analiza el ring , mira la propiedades , concretamente la propiedad "Fit Mode " selecciona la opcion "Size Control To Image " , siempre es mejor que sea el control el que se adapte a la imagen , que no la imagen al control . En caso de que necesites reducir el tama?o del control usa alguna aplicacion como el Photoshop o el Acdsee32 o el Xnview( te la recomiendo es gratis y funciona de maravilla ) para adaptar la foto al tama?o deseado.

2. La segunda posibilidad es que edites la aplicacion a una resolucion de pantalla y luego trabajes a otra resolucion de pantalla , eleigiendo reajuste automatica de tama?o , esta
opcion no funciona correctamente , asi que no la uses .

De todas formas si quieres enviame ese panel a mi direccion de correo(siabevef@teleline.es ) y te lo
analizo.

Siabevef,
thank you for your help. The ring control was set to "Size control to image"
and I always worked at the same resolution (1280x1024x32bit). What is really
"fun" is that also the controls in the uir editor dialog boxes (I mean the
CVI packgae dialog boxes not mine !!!) are also affected by a similar
problem (but this doesn't happen regularly, it happens often but is not
always reproducible).

I STRONGLY suspect that the problem is related to CVI and not in my code
(obviously expecially for the uir editor dialog boxes !).

I need an opinion from a N.I. engineer, I'm a long time CVI user (since
vers. 3 under Windows 3.11) and never found such a problem, I'm really in
troubles with my application because the develpoment time is expiring (to
say the truth is already expired) and I have not yet finished. I can't use
CVI 5.5 because I used in many panels some features of the CVI 6.0. If I use
all "classical stayle" controls (not Labview style control) in all my panels
am I able to reload that panels in CVI 5.5 ? Please help !!!
