How to import a NI-Max task.ini file in alphabetical order

Hello,

I am using NI-Max in conjunction with LabWindows on two seperate PC's. I made an ini file with all of the tasks that we wish to use with NI-Max to control our hardware.

When I import the ini file on one pc, everything comes in exactly in order. On the other machine, the tasks always import in a random order. Its very frustrating having to search for my tasks in a random list.

I cannot seem to find a configuration option to change this, and there appears to be no logic behing the import either. It does not appear to import by port or anything that I can identify.

Is there anything I can do to correct this? The fact that my one PC works and the other doesn't implies it's caused by a setting somewhere.

Thank you in advance.

Have you tried reading the .INI file in sorted order? You can use Ini_New (1); to enable sorting the elements in the .INI file.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

My INI file was written by hand. This is mainly a question about NI-Max (I wasn't sure which thread to put it in).

All my issues are in NI-Max, my CVI program does not create the INI file, it only uses the defined tasks.

One would think there would be a sort option in the NI-Max browser, but I guess not.
