How to run the old DOS utility UIEDIT.EXE under Win ME, 2000, XP?

I need to maintain several old DOS projects developed with LabWindows for DOS. The UIEDIT.EXE utility (User Interface Resource file editor) doesn't run in a Windows DOS shell. Until Win98 I could run it rebooting the PC in exclusive DOS mode, but I cannot di it with the newest Windows versions. Is there a way? Is there any Win utility to edit the DOS .UIR files?

No, I'm afraid not. DOS mode was the last remnance of full backwards compatibility with DOS apps. You are out of options under 2000 and XP. Newer CVI versions are still backwards compatible with LW DOS files, but they have to be converted so it wouldn't work if you were still trying to leave the programs as DOS-based.

You could always try something like VMWare (www.vmware.com). I do most of my development in a Win95 window but you could always just install DOS.
It's a great tool!
