2) I would like to have access to force feedback control (for a microsoft side winder force joystick)
3) how to interface easily (for beginner) with the directX sdk from microsoft

Unfortunately, there is no additional information on this example outside of looking at the code and the comments. It was written using functions from the Windows SDK and you can consult the SDK help for help on the functions that were used.
