Installing LW/CVI for Linux Runtime on Linux without RPM

I am attempting to load the Linux CVI runtime engine on an embedded computer.  This is to determine feasibility for our use.  Unfortunately this version (Linux 2.6.7) is an embedded distribution and using one of the approved distributions isn't an option.  NI stated there are no guarantees and we understand that.

My problem is that the files are all RPM packages and this distribution doesn't use RPM.  How do I install the CVI Runtime since the script file uses RPM files?

I have used UNIX years ago but I'm relatively new to Linux so forgive me if my question is somewhat elementary.  I probably need detailed information on this.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

The CVI Run-Time Module for Linux disc includes a statically linked version of RPM to enable installs on systems that do not have RPM installed.  If you run the INSTALL script in the root directory of the disc, it should install the software using RPM binary on the disc if the system doesn't have it installed.
